Transform Your Smile
with Opalescence Boost Teeth Whitening in Grand Rapids
How Does Opalescence Teeth Whitening Compare to Over-the-Counter Teeth Whitening Kits?
Many drugstores sell teeth whitening kits that you can buy and use at home. Perhaps you have tried a few kits yourself but did not get the results you expected. These kits provide some degree of whitening, but they do not work as well as Opalescence or produce results that last as long.
The chemicals contained in OTC teeth whitening kits are not as powerful as those used in professional teeth whitening, nor do they penetrate the deepest layers of tooth enamel. Another potential problem with a self-service teeth whitening kit is that the trays you place on the top and bottom rows of your teeth may not fit right.
With professional teeth whitening, our dentists customize the trays to fit securely in your mouth without any bleaching agent leaking out of them.
Unlike other dental practices, we do not shine LED lights towards your mouth to activate the fluoride and potassium nitrate in the solution. Opalescence teeth whitening treatment contains self-activating solution, is gluten-free, and contains no animal products. One treatment session takes approximately 20 minutes from start to finish. Most patients see noticeable results after two or three sessions.
How Long Do the Results of Opalescence Teeth Whitening Last?
Every patient responds differently to the fluoride and potassium nitrate found in Opalescence Boost. Most report that their teeth remain up to several shades brighter for at least several months. Some even say that they can go two years before needing to come back to our office for a touch-up.
You can increase the likelihood that your teeth will remain bright for a longer period by brushing and flossing at least twice a day. Be sure to avoid foods and drinks that can stain your teeth like wine or berries. If you smoke, plan to quit before your first teeth whitening appointment since tobacco stains will quickly give your teeth a yellowish appearance.
